Ladybugs

I finally got to posting on the same day that I did my nails. Being unemployed helps even if I do still feel sick. (My job was a fixed term contract.)

This past Saturday, my friend had a 30th birthday party that was Super Hero themed. I went as Agent Carter. She has bright red nails all the time, so that's what I did to my nails. One of my other friends commented that it was the most normal she had seen my nails. She said normal, I say boring.

When walking to church the next morning, I walked past a place called the Sewing Bug. It has a ladybug on its logo and I realised that was the perfect way to jazz up my nails. It just took me a few days to actually do it. I was debating between dots on the non-accent nails or a French tip. I had waited too long to decide, so I needed to do the tip to cover up the wear!

It's my birthday and I'll do my nails if I want to

My birthday was two weeks ago. My husband and I celebrated a bit when we were up in the Gold Coast with his parents. We got a pretty painting and a beautiful necklace as part of my birthday present. Seeing the dingo puppies at Dreamworld was also a birthday present. Then this past weekend we got the last part of my gift, which was a big sundae from Gelatissimo. It had 32 mini scoops of gelato and it was amazing!

I also got three cakes from my husband. The ice cream cake was for our Eurovision party the weekend before my birthday. There was a chocolate cake with mint icing for my actual birthday that I brought to singing practice. Then he made a Ferarro Rocher cake for our Bible study on Wednesday. I was very spoiled!

I forgot to get a picture of the big ice cream cake, but we had extra ice cream so we made little cakes as well. I also didn't take a picture of the chocolate cake with mint icing. Oops!

These are my nails from my birthday. I started by painting them purple. Then I used a sponge to add in the blue and green, in addition to adding more purple. I loved how they turned out, but it was a bit difficult to capture the subtlety in a picture.
