Favourite Winnie the Pooh character

The prompt for today is your favourite Winnie the Pooh character, but I couldn't pick just one! I used to love Eeyore when I was little, but Piglet is so cute and Tigger is fun and Pooh is so cuddly! I decided to just do them all on my nails instead!

For Eeyore, I used Sparks Will Fly from China Glaze Magnetix. The black is Blackest Black from Designer Brands and his bow is Strawberry Sundae by Ulta 3.

For Piglet, I used Koala Bear-y and black for the lines.

For Tigger, I painted the background white with the white polish from the studs pack of Models Prefer. The black is the same. I started filling in the orange with Tahiti from Ulta 3, but it looks almost pink, so I put Jail Bait from Spoiled on top.

For Pooh, I started with painting my nail yellow with Bananarama from Kmart. Then I realised that I needed a coat of white to make it opaque, so I did a layer of white and then more yellow. The red of his shirt is Red my Fortune Cookie by OPI.

It's one of the first ones that I've actually figured out how to use my brush with the long bristles to make thin lines. I was super happy with how it turned out, especially the Pooh and Tigger nails!

Recreate a mani by your favourite blogger

I have been wanting to do this manicure since I first saw it on More Nail Polish and was inspired to start my blog last March. I haven't been able to do it because I didn't have a blue jelly. It wasn't until I was using my OPI sheer tints the other day that I realised I got one for Christmas!

Since the sheer tint is well, super sheer, I started out the manicure with a layer of blue to get full colour. I started off with painting my nails Frostbite by China Glaze. I painted the fish with Metallica by Wet 'n' Wild and alternated it with I Can Teal You Like Me by OPI sheer tints. It was my first attempt at making a "jelly sandwich." I topped it off with a French tip of sand with Gold Fushion by China Glaze magnetix.

The Hundred Acre Woods

Day two for the Winnie the Pooh theme is the woods, so of course I took my inspiration from the Hundred Acre Woods!

I started with painting my core four with Bonna Blue from Fresh Paint for the sky and Gargantuan Green Grape by OPI for the grass. I then used a sponge to add some Continuum from Formula X to the sky and My Dogsled is a Hybrid from OPI to the grass.

The trees are made using A-piers to be Tan from OPI for the trunk and Envious from Kmart for the leaves. I added detail with Blackest Black from Designer Brands.

My thumb and the paths on my index finger and pinkie are done with Coach Ella from Fresh Paint. Mr. Sanderz is what Pooh's house says above the door.

Tranquility

My first thought for tranquility was the moon, ie the Sea of Tranquility. Then I decided to do a google image search just for funsies and the pictures were so beautiful. I loved all of the purple and pink sunsets, so I decided to do a gradient and add my palm tree water decals.

My gradient was done with two of my polishes from Formula X, Envious is the purple and Brazen is the pink. The water decals were previously provided for review from the Born Pretty Store.

Green base

The prompt for yesterday as a green base. Unfortunately I was unable to do my nails yesterday since I didn't feel well and spent the day sleeping. I also didn't feel well today which means I didn't get my nails done until a little bit ago. So sad. At least I still had my pretty Winnie the Pooh nails from one of the other challenges that I'm doing.

I decided that I really like the colour My Dogsled is a Hybrid from OPI, so I started with that as my base. Then I thought that some roses would look nice. I used Strawberry Sundae by Ulta3 for the light part of the roses and Koala Bear-y from OPI as the darker shade.

I really love these nails, although I feel like I've seen them before. I think that it may be similar to the print on a dress that often pops up as an ad on my facebook.

Bees and Hunny

January 18th is Winnie the Pooh day, since it's the author's birthday. In honour of that, the Challenge Your Nail Art group is having a 3-day mini challenge for Winnie the Pooh. The first day's theme is Bees and Honey, or hunny as Pooh would spell it.

The blue on my index finger is Continuum from Formula X. The yellow is Bananaram from Kmart, the black is Blackest Black from Designer Brands, and the white is from the studs pack from Models Prefer.

My middle finger is supposed to be honey dripping down. The red is Red my Fortune Cookie from OPI. For the honey, I first drew it in white and then put yellow on top so that it would be opaque.

My ring finger is a honey jar. The brown is A-piers to be Tan from OPI and the pale green of the label is My Dogsled is a Hybrid from OPI.

My pinkie is a beehive. I painted it Coach Ella from Fresh Paint and added brown stripes and a black hole.

Holo

I don't have many polishes with holo glitters in them, so my choices were only two. I chose the blue one because I used the black the other day on my reversed polarities manicure. I wasn't sure what sort of nail art to do at first, but then I figured that silver went well with the blue. It's a simple one, but I want to keep practicing doing a French tip.

The polishes were Brilliant Blue by L.A. Girl and Metallica by Wet 'n' Wild.

Inspired by Pinterest- Cherries

This was an interesting prompt for me from the Crumpet Nail Tart challenge because most of my nail art is either directly or indirectly inspired from Pinterest. So I decided to look at my nail inspiration board and pick something. I decided I wanted to do something summery since summer is half over here and most of December was wintery because of Christmas.

The pin that I used can be found here, although unfortunately I can't open the link to give credit because it's blocked.

The polishes used were the black and white from the stud nails pack from Models Prefer. The green is Envious from Kmart. The red is Red my Fortune Cookie from OPI.

Rubber duckie, you're the one!

Switching up the challenge, since I like to do ALL the challenges I find. This one goes to the NAIL link-up. When I saw that the challenge for this week was rubber duckies, I had the Sesame Street song in my head right away and I knew what I had to do for this manicure!

The background colour is white with several coats of I Can Teal You Like Me from OPI sheer tints. The ducks are Bananarama from Kmart with Tahiti from Ulta3 on their beaks. Ernie was made by mixing Tahiti with Red my Fortune Cookie from OPI. I added more of the red to that mixture to make his nose. The bubbles/bubbly water were made by mixing Bonna Blue from Fresh Paint and Top Coat plus from Nicole by OPI. I roughly mix them to give the blue more of a dimension that adds to the bubbles. Some of the bubbles have lots of the blue mixed in and some are mostly just blobs of top coat.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

The theme today is film. These ones came to me in a dream, well sort of. I had a dream that I was painting Wizard of Oz nails but I don't remember the design for the dream. This is what I came up with after I had the dream a few days ago.

Most of the polishes for the different colours are ones that I had to mix, so I won't bother trying to name them all.
